The main benefit to working with a freelancer is that I’m cheaper than hiring a full service digital marketing agency and because I work for myself, you can be assured work on your website will be completed by an SEO professional and not a recent Graduate or Intern. Your project will also never get pushed down the priority list because the New Business Director needs support with their latest pitch.

Frequently Asked questions
How much does SEO cost?
There is no set answer here as the price I propose is dictated by your business goals and the current condition of the website – both of which have to be examined on a case by case basis with the initial website audit
However, roughly speaking order for me to carry out work that’s of the quality required to generate better long-term exposure, I recommend spending at least £300 per month for localised search campaigns and £500 for national campaigns.
That being said, I can work with almost any budget but it is important for clients to be realistic about what can be achieved with a low spend.
Will you tie me into a contract?
The short answer is no. I operate on a rolling monthly basis but I do ask that you commit to your campaign for at least 3 months. This is because improvements in SEO are not normally instantaneous and it can take a number of weeks for the changes I have made to be crawled and indexed by the search engines. Larger, more complicated campaigns require an initial commitment of 6 months but again, this is not contractual or legally binding.
How do you choose the right keywords?
I take several different factors into account when selecting the best keywords for your website.
I initially examine the keywords the website is currently targeting with its meta tags and then determine if they are the correct ones. To do this I use tools to check the monthly search volume and keyword difficulty of the keywords that you want to work with. Generally, the more a keyword is searched for, the harder it’ll be to rank well for it – however, the level of competition surrounding each search term is also determined by the nature of the business that are returned in the organic listings and the strength of these websites.
If some of the ideal keywords within the specified budget isn’t realistic, I’ll consider different keyword variations. For example, I may suggest localising your keywords and targeting specific regions, or working with long-tail keywords to target product pages as opposed to more general keywords that target category pages.
Will you need access to my website?
Ideally, yes. To provide a comprehensive optimisation service, I will need access to your website’s CMS in order to make changes to your title tags and content that will enhance your search engine presence. If you would prefer to not give me your site’s login details, I can provide you with the necessary details to carry out changes yourself.
What is your on-boarding process?
I begin with an SEO audit for a one-off flat fee which depends on the size and complexity of your website.
Upon completion, I will send the audit to you and present its findings on a call. From, there you can decide if you’d like me to make the changes I have proposed over the course of an agreed time period (typically a minimum of 3 months).
The first month will always involve the creation of a SEO strategy which will be comprised of the tasks proposed in the audit, with the priority decided by a combination of what will have the biggest impact on organic search and where are the areas of the business the client wishes to focus on.
How long before I see improvements?
With SEO there can be no guarantees that you’ll see improvements within a particular timeframe. The pace of your campaign will depend on the competitiveness of the targeted keywords and the strength of your website’s existing backlink profile.
Once the onsite optimisation I have proposed is in place we should begin to see initial spikes in positions as the search engines crawl and index the keyword-rich content.
Positions will then tend to fluctuate for 2-3 months as the search bots get used to other technical and link building changes we have made. After that, we should expect to see steady progress.
